Didgeridoo making process can be a routine, but it can also be a mystical journey. Sometimes there is only a thin line in between. What makes this thin line? A mistake, of course. So it was a very lucky and precious mistake that made La Fluanta. It resulted in quite an extreme resonator box. Which finally resulted in quite an extreme bass and perfect fifth for a first toot. It opens up a whole new world [...]
Extreme Dream E was one of the most used Duende didgeridoos in my own Spring/Summer tour 2010. It was so because of its especially nice toot relations, and magnificent playability. The EDE was made as an experiment of new didgeridoo sound with good playability as an important added condition. Sound was unexpected in certain aspects. I was amazed by the amount of detail in higher mid frequencies. [...]
Flying Tree Dragon is an example of such an extreme in classical conicaly shaped didgeridoo that it is very hard to describe without letting you try it. What does it mean „extreme classical conical shaped didgeridoo“? It means that FTD follows the „logic“ of relatively well known didgeridoos that have flare. But flare of FTD is so deep inside and so large outside that it breaks certain laws of playing… [...]
This is an ancient goddess of calming smooth drone and powerful vibrations, goddess of charm and harmony, beauty and sounductiveness, materialized in a didgeridoo. The moment you get a hold of this didgeridoo, you will feel the exceptional duality of tenderness and power it radiates. If you have read the description of didgeridoo C Fantastique this is a very similar specimen, only in female principle… [...]
It is not easy to fully present the exceptionality of this didgeridoo. It is a completely different view to sound and playability of didgeridoo in a way that even brings you closer to the roots. At the same time this is a didgeridoo which teaches you again how to circular breathe, how to control your body and all the natural didgeridoo aspects on one side, and on the other side new sound possibilities… [...]
This is the shortest didgeridoo we have, but with one of the most stunning appearances. It is a nice little didgeridoo, playing moderately loud and fairly easy, and one of the rare Duende examples that surpass their sound by their looks. This little stick has drier sound, in a good way. It is not so short, and bell is not so small in common sense, but when compared to other instruments in this place, it is… [...]
A 180+cm didgeridoo in D was always rather desirable in didgeridoo world. So we had to take a peek into what is there, and one nice piece that we found was a semi-opened channel, strongly conical, moderately big instrument with strong and clear drone and nice toots. The sound of this instrument is very convincing. Loud, clear, easy vocals, easy toots, strong dynamics… [...]
This didgeridoo is an example that harmonious proportions, and inner sense can put inside a tube much more sound than it appears on the outside. This particular instrument had specially good genes for this as it has a really nice old hard wood as well as design taken from the famous C which is played on Stinkirum, Lake of Awareness, The Spatialist, Valso de Sufokato, Point in Line… [...]
This was the first eucalyptus trial of how much of deep sound can be put in really small package. The result is quite expected. A bit more than expected! But let us see what we’ve got. Sound of this didgeridoo is mostly in mids and highs- compared to other didgeridoos of course, because the basic note of (very much almost) every didgeridoo is bass… [...]
The reason into venture to make this didgeridoo was further exploration of the “Archangel†shape, on smaller instruments. In this case, this exploration was very rewarding. Sound of this didgeridoo is so thick it can move a brick, so warm, so full, so dark, it is oozing with character and it is beautiful to play and look. You will recognize the effect big chamber of this didgeridoo has on the sound right away… [...]
