This was the first eucalyptus trial of how much of the deep sound can be put in really small package. The result is quite expected. A bit more than expected! But let us see what we’ve got.
Sound of this didgeridoo is mostly in mids and highs- compared to other didgeridoos of course, because the basic note of (very much almost) every didgeridoo is bass. Compared to other Duendes it lacks low mids. It is the most quiet of all Duendes. It’s articulation and clarity are fine, but instrument lacks power for acoustic performances, unless it is a smaller and very acoustic room. Colour is nice, but sound is not very full. However, know that this is vision of this didgeridoo from Duende didgeridoo perspective, it is not compared to B didgeridoos from the outer market.
Playability of this didgeridoo is moderate. It is still a cylindrical-conical instrument which has proportions going in the right way, so it can’t be too hard or unusual to play. But it is not stunning in performance as most of his brothers and sisters. Since it is quite cylindrical, like all but extreme Canyon didgeridoos, it has a relatively big interval between drone and first toot, the rest is as expected.
In appearance this didgeridoo is very nice due to the beautiful colours of the wood, strongly red, and very fine oil finish it has. It is also unusual due to the „little brick bell“ this didgeridoo has.
If you experienced Duende didgeridoos as didgeridoos exceptionally exceptional, then you can know that even an entry level didgeridoo is still a Duende didgeridoo, and as such it is a treat regarding the price!
