This didgeridoo was made as one of the first Duende experiments. It still has a soul of a Duende, its drone is rich, toots full, and it allows vocal exhibitions. However, due to being an „experiment“  it does not have the perfection of crafting or sound as most of its siblings do. However, one thing that it beats most of them, and that one thing is not so unimportant sometimes, is its price.

Sound of this didgeridoo is very „correct“ – does not go any unexpected ways. It is darker sounding, with bass as most prominent frequency, and all other frequencies gradually fall until the classical little top lift in the end spectrum.  The most interesting relation in this didgeridoo is drone to first toot. Sound can be described, as full, rather warm, solid, reliable and not too loud.

In playability sense, this didgeridoo is well behaved in most expected ways. Third toot is a bit higher than is common, so it is a bit unusual to play. Didgeridoo reads well diaphragm movements, and it is good for „pumping“ rhythms.  Voice and singing over drone and toots is also natural and easily done. Articulations do not come out highly detailed, and in relation to that, didgeridoo is a tiny bit slower in tongue response than usual.

In appearance, this is an interesting didgeridoo, we do not have another like it. It combines the strong red colour of eucalyptus with strong yellow of locust. The drawing of „weird vegetation“ connects the weird joints. This didgeridoo is definitely in „lighter“ spectrum of Duende, in all ways, compared to its fellow tubes it is one of the „small ones“. So it gets one plus of easy handling. In it shape it is just slightly curved.

Even though this is more of a basic Duende, it is still Duende, you don’t have to fear that the sound will be dull once you buy didgeridoo “Shumitza” and try it live. It is a trade of some slightly less important things to come up with a great sounding instrument which is very affordable.
