11. Magiuš E in Ebony with Pale Moon Ebony mouthpiece
The apex of this year’s didgeridoo making is a didgeridoo of modest proportions, but without any modesty in sound. It is for me the “perfect” E, or as close as those words can come to reality. It is very portable at 154cm, but overwhelmingly powerful with incredible sense of fullness when playing. The ebony offers that shimmer to the extremely satisfying low end. This was my choice for my personal didgeridoo, something which very few instruments reach. I can play with it old school Eastern style of didgeridoo, established by the Great Ondrej Smeykal, it can play trad, it can play aircode very well, condensed drone and ultrafast articulations tied into polyrhythms and polymeteres that I love. the blackness is real, not painted as many think. Grain and nuanced colour changes are noticeable in strong light. PME mouthpiece is a contrast from the same family of wood. Price is 6666 euros.
12. Magiuš E in Ebony with Macassar Ebony mouthpiece
